Web Site: www.thomaspottery.com E-Mail: scottandbobbie@thomaspottery.com Bio In 2006 we sold our home and studio in Carthage, NC and purchased a farm here in Seagrove, NC. We are excited about our move and being an active member of a working community of potters. Our property has several farm buildings one of which we renovated into a new studio. The studio consists of 1200 square foot of wonderful open space with lots of glass and a cathedral ceiling. The windows overlook a beautiful pond and landscaped area for us to enjoy each day. The sales gallery is a cabin we built several years ago that we moved to our property. It has 400 square feet of open display space with wood floors and high ceiling. The studio is separated from the sales gallery, and is visible to see the process of creating pottery. Extending the roofline to join these two buildings together gave us an awesome covered welcome area. Thomas Pottery is a joint exploration of functional and decorative stoneware. As you venture through their shop you will find large platters, bowls, pitchers and vases hand tuned by Scott. Bobbie turns the smaller items such as mugs, cruets, teapots and sauce bowls with ladles, she also enjoys hand-building using flat pieces of clay. She creates many sizes of trays, platters and serving pieces. Her custom tiled mirrors, whimsical tri-footed designs, planters of cats, rabbits, frogs, turtles and chickens are especially unique. She enhances her work by using handmade stamps and hand painting. Scott and Bobbie also do collaborative designs by combining their skills to create even more unique pieces. Their passion for nature shows in their glazes and designs. Thomas pottery is a place where you can experience making pottery. Call ahead to plan your private hands on clay party.
