CELEBRATON OF SEAGROVE POTTERS:
CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
The inaugural Celebration of Seagrove Potters (COSP) will take place this year on November 21, 22 and 23. COSP will feature more than 60 of Seagrove's finest artists exhibiting at the historic Luck's Cannery on Pottery Highway NC 705, half a mile south of the traffic light in downtown Seagrove.
Volunteers serve as the backbone of a festival. We intend to provide COSP attendees the finest opportunity to browse and shop the thousands of original pieces of art created by artists from the authentic Seagrove area. COSP is dedicated to creating a unique and creative environment for all who attend. This would not be possible without the immense dedication of our volunteers.
COSP volunteers will have the opportunity to work on many different aspects of the festival, including the auction, artist relations, gala preview event, production, special projects and more. Volunteer opportunities, comprised of four hour shifts, are available November 21, 22 and 23. Benefits of being a volunteer include an original Celebration of Seagrove Potters Festival T-shirt, special gift and more.
If you would like to join our exciting team of volunteers for the 2008 Inaugural Celebration of Seagrove Potters, please go to our website at www.CelebrationOfSeagrovePotters.com to learn more about the event or contact Bonnie Burns at redhare@rtmc.net to learn more about the duties of each volunteer committee. The Celebration of Seagrove Potters was formed in early June when a group of Seagrove Potters decided to organize a festival that showcased the potters of the actual Seagrove area. Many factors led to this decision, the most important being the desire of many Seagrove artists to work together to protect the unique and authentic pottery community that has taken generations to build. The festival, to be held November 21, 22 and 23, 2008 will offer shoppers a one-stop, indoor shopping opportunity to purchase clay work made only in the area defined authentically as Seagrove.

The potters who are participating in the Celebration of Seagrove Potters festival in November are also part of a special exhibition at the Arts Council of Moore County in Southern Pines, NC. For more info go to the Exhibition page.
